Suppliers that we do not support

TBHRS member experiences have led us to conclude that we should not patronize the following organizations:

Andes Pets - University Mall, Tampa

Animal House - All Locations

Feed Depot at Fox's Corner on Gunn Highway, Odessa, FL

Flea Markets

Petland - All Locations

PetSupermarket - All Locations

Tampa Bay House Rabbit Society does not endorse any retailer that sells rabbits. When you shop at a store that sells rabbits, you are indirectly adding to the overpopulation problem. Even if you aren't buying animals, you are still supporting a business that sells unaltered rabbits to anyone with the money to buy, regardless of whether these rabbits will be bred, and with no thought whatsoever of the level of care these animals will be receiving.

To make matters even worse, these places often employ staff that aren't knowledgeable about rabbit care. Therefore those who purchase animals are often given incorrect care instructions, so even those purchasers that attempt to provide good care unfortunately may not be doing so.

Please
don't contribute to these problems! There are many places that are ethical enough to sell supplies without selling animals, and we urge you to thank these retailers for their honesty by giving them your business instead.

DISCLAIMER:  The House Rabbit Society does not support commercial or exploitative interests, nor do we endorse products. Donations from manufacturers may be gratefully accepted, but no obligation is implied. Objective recommendations of products are occasionally made for health reasons but never in exchange for payment or publicity.
